Since I was a small child, I have felt the need to paint, with flowers being my favorite choice of subject matter for as far back as I can remember. Not coming from an artistic family, and with my parents not knowing quite what to do with their "creative" child, they signed me up for every art class offered in our small Texas town. Eventually, giving up their Saturdays to drive me into the big city for more. In college I applied my love for the visual arts to graphic design and upon graduation, worked for an ad agency for a couple of years. This creative track was fun for a while, but I desperately missed painting, so in 1992 I opened a retail store devoted to the sale of my artwork in my new hometown of Tallahassee, Florida.
While running the store and raising my two young boys, I began wholesaling my product line, then created a website which eventually lead to a career in licensing my art to housewares companies for a wide range of products. These days, in addition to my licensing projects, I devote my newfound time as an empty nester to painting on canvas. On a perfect day, you'll find me in my studio happily interpreting flowers, the way I see them in my dreams.
